If you can still access the files on the USB drive, copy and paste them to another storage location. This will safeguard your data even if the USB drive becomes unreadable. If you get an error like “You need to format the disk,” “RAW drive,” or if you notice bad sectors, file system corruption, or the drive has become “RAW,” you may not be able to access your files. In this case, a tool like Data Recovery Wizard should be able to save your data from the drive.
Step 1. Select the USB drive to scan
Launch the tool Data Recovery Wizard, select the USB drive where you lost your important files, and click “Scan” to start.
Step 2: Preview and check USB Drive Data
Once the scan is over, you can use the filter feature and search options to locate specific types of files quickly.
Step 3: Recover Files from Flash Drive
Once the scan is complete and the lost USB drive files are found, click “ Recover ” to restore them. Save the recovered files to a secure location on your computer instead of back to the USB drive.
Note: While Apacer 3.0 Repair Tool is excellent, it may not be successful in repairing a drive with severe hardware issues. In such cases, you should contact the respective customer support for assistance.
Step 1: Connect the Apacer USB flash drive to your computer and run the repair tool.
Step 2. To erase the drive and start over, choose "Format." Select the drive, then choose the file system you want to use (NTFS, FAT16, etc.). Click "Format" to begin, then wait for the process to complete.
For a low-level format (which returns the drive to its factory settings), select “Restore.” Confirm your choice, and wait for the process to finish.
The free formatting tool Regedit.exe, provided by Apacer, can be useful for this purpose.
Step 1. Press Windows Key + R to open the “Run” dialog box, then type Regedit and hit Enter to open Registry Editor.
Step 2: In Registry Editor, navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies
Step 3: Double-click the WriteProtect value in the right pane of Regedit.exe. Change the “Value data” from 1 to 0, and then click OK to save the change.
After you've done all of that, reconnect your Apacer USB drive, and you'll find that the write protection has been removed. You should now be able to format the drive.
After going through all the steps, reconnect the Apacer USB flash drive and you will find that the write protection has been removed and the device can be formatted.
