HDD RAW Copy Tool is a software utility designed for cloning hard drives and backing up data. Its primary function is to copy everything from one hard drive directly to another, without the need to format or install an operating system. This tool proves useful in these scenarios: 1. Anticipating Hard Drive Failure: Before replacing a failing drive, you can use HDD RAW Copy Tool to securely duplicate all your data onto a new one. 2. System Migration: If you're shifting your OS and apps to a larger or faster drive, this tool ensures a seamless transition. 3. Data Recovery: In case of data loss, you can attempt to copy a damaged drive to potentially recover your files. 4. Swift Backup: For those who regularly need to back up critical data, HDD RAW Copy Tool provides a quick and direct method. Just a word of caution, "RAW" refers to unformatted, raw disk data. Exercise caution when using this tool as it directly reads and writes to the physical sectors of the hard drive. Incorrect usage could lead to data loss.

The presence of the “raw” character makes the disk copy/cloning process a little different.

A disk-imaging utility that supports raw mode works like this:

It copies all sectors of the hard drive, including the MBR/GPT partition table, boot records, all partitions, and free space. Use a RAW cloning tool only when you want an exact duplicate of a hard drive.

When do you need a HDD RAW copy tool?

    • For certain forensic purposes

Supports comprehensive electronic evidence discovery on specific hard drives, including copying all contents, even hidden data areas that cannot be seen on the computer.

    Recover Damaged Hard Drive

Create an image of the damaged hard drive and perform the recovery on that image. Tools for disk imaging skip bad sectors while copying, so using a regular disk-imaging software can save you a lot of time waiting for bad sectors to copy.

    • As a last resort

It backs up the contents of the disk, its file system, partitioning, and free space to a new drive for future use.

Of course, it also works as a common RAW copy tool to meet the basic need of replacing an old hard drive with a new one without data loss or system reinstallation. It's truly a simple, powerful, dedicated, and user-friendly disk cloning software. Anyone can handle disk cloning tasks easily!

Step-by-step guide:

Fire up the Disk Copy utility for a smooth disk duplication or cloning process.

1. Download, install, and run the Disk Copy utility on your computer.
Click on Disk Mode, then select the source disk that you want to copy or clone. Click Next to proceed.

Select the source disk to clone

2. Select the target disk to which you want to clone/copy the old one, then click "Next" to proceed. If prompted, click "OK" to confirm if the program asks you to erase data on the target disk.

Finish copying or cloning to the new disk

3. Check and edit the disk layout. You can choose to “Autofit to disk,” “Copy as much as possible,” or “Edit disk layout.” It is recommended that you select “Autofit to disk.”

    • Copy as source will copy the same partition layout from the source disk to the target disk. • Edit Disk Layout allows you to manually adjust the size or location of partitions on the target disk. • If your target disk is an SSD, remember to check the box for “Optimize for SSD if target is SSD.”

Click Continue to start the disk cloning or disk copy process immediately.
